Educational Background Ph.D., Ecology, University of Chicago. 1999. M.S., Ecology, University of Chicago. 1996. B.S., Biology, Humboldt State University. 1993. Primary Responsibilities to PISCO My primary responsibility is to share scientific information gathered by PISCO scientists for ocean policy, management, and conservation. I work with policy makers, managers, and the public to listen, learn and share information to support science-based policy and management. The primary avenues for communication are public meetings, workshops, booklets and brochures, popular articles, web-based resources, and video. I also serve as an internal resource for PISCO scientists. I track policy issues, with a focus on southern California, and I work with PISCO scientists to provide relevant information to policy makers and managers. When information gaps are identified, I work with PISCO scientists to adapt or augment our research to address management priorities. Selected Publications Airame, S. and S. Gaines, and C.
