Primary Responsibilities to PISCO
My primary responsibility is to share scientific information gathered by PISCO scientists for ocean policy, management, and conservation. I work with policy makers, managers, and the public to listen, learn and share information to support science-based policy and management. The primary avenues for communication are public meetings, workshops, booklets and brochures, popular articles, web-based resources, and video. I also serve as an internal resource for PISCO scientists. I track policy issues, with a focus on southern California, and I work with PISCO scientists to provide relevant information to policy makers and managers. When information gaps are identified, I work with PISCO scientists to adapt or augment our research to address management priorities.
