Guidelines for Session Chairs
- Briefly introduce the speakers
- It is important to limit each speaker to their designated
time slot. Pre-arrange a system with your speakers. Give a clear sign when a speaker has 5 minutes and 2 minutes left for the presentation (ie, raise 5 fingers, 2 fingers). Arrange a clear signal for the end of the talk time and ask the speaker to make final comments.
- During Q/A, lease ask each person to state their name and organization prior to asking
their question.
Guidelines for Session Speakers
Jerod Sapp, our PISCO-OSU program
manager, will be available to assist upload of presentations to the conference
center’s system. Please organize upload times when you arrive to the meeting.
The following are presentation
format guidelines:
All presenters should design their
presentations in accordance with the projection hardware at the LaSells Stewart Center. You may not run the presentation off your laptop.
Your presentation should be designed
as a Microsoft Power Point 2003 file (*.ppt).
Mac users should test their files on
a computer with this software because there are known issues between MacOS Power
Point and Windows Power Point.
If you using Power Point 2007,
make sure to save it as a 2003 compatible format. Bring your presentation on a
thumb drive or CD (or both).
Please contact Jerod directly if you
have any questions prior to the meeting (sappj@science.oregonstate.edu,
