Dr. Bob Warner was part of the founding group of authors who began The Science of Marine Reserves. His work with colleagues at UCSB and the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS), which played a critical role in developing the project, helped document the effects of marine reserves and provided data to develop criteria for future reserve establishment. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the fields of behavioral & evolutionary ecology and population biology, where his work on understanding the recruitment dynamics of marine fishes has been particularly pertinent to discussions on the placement of marine reserves and MPAs. He is currently Emeritus faculty at University of California, Santa Barbara.
